The Israeli team championship in Russian draughts passed unnoticed. It was held according to a new interesting system and with unexpected team compositions. But first, let’s recall an old children’s song:

Now let’s move on to the official information taken from the website of the Israeli Draughts Federation.
On November 22, 2025, the Israeli Team Championship in 64-square draughts was held in Haifa. The matches between the teams were played on three boards: two boards according to the rules of the Russian version and one board according to the rules of the Brazilian version. The country’s leading players took part in the tournament, ensuring a high level of competition in both the team and individual standings.
The only team to avoid defeat was Haifa, which won the championship with 14 match points and 36 small points. In second place was Kiryat Yam, which put up a fight against its “big neighbor.” Kiryat Yam also scored 14 match points, but a lower number of small points (34) decided the outcome of the confrontation. Third place went to the Nof HaGalil team with 13 match points and the best total of small points (39). Despite the highest overall result on the boards, a misstep in the match against Kiryat Yam stopped the team one step away from the gold medals.
On behalf of our team, we would like to wish for the development of draughts in Israel. And maybe someday we will see a young generation of draughts players from this country. And this generation will not allow draughts to die out completely on fertile ground.
