The Nijmegen Open has once again been awarded five-star status

27.07.2026

This year, the Nijmegen Open 2026 will be held for the 41st time, from Sunday, July 26, 2026, through Saturday, August 1, 2026. As was the case last year, the venue for the competition will be the De Boog sports hall in Nijmegen. The tried-and-true format of the summer tournament for players of all levels remains unchanged. As always, there will be 10 rounds over seven days with the standard time control of 80 minutes plus 1 minute per move.

The tournament consistently attracts a large number of participants. This time, 119 draughts players are competing, representing 13 countries. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to view recordings of the games online, but several channels are broadcasting the games live on lidraughts.org. (De Boog, Dick Boerrigterplein 2, 6663 RC Nijmegen) It’s also worth noting the consistently generous prize fund for the tournament winners.
