Photographer? Electronic boards? Broadcasts? No, we haven’t heard of such things.
In recent years, we have become accustomed to the fact that the organization of world and European championships for boys and girls is of a low standard. From a sports management perspective, this is a major oversight on the part of the leadership. After all, it is at these sporting events that the future of the draughts world is decided and perceptions of it are formed.
The last European Youth Championships were, admittedly, better organized than the World Championships currently taking place in Turkey. And when you look closely at the organization of the World Championships in Turkey, you are often horrified by the conditions. We hope that the organization of the World and European Championships will improve significantly with the arrival of new leadership.
There are some basic rules for organizing sports events:
- Spacious, bright, and presentable game rooms
- Comfortable accommodation for participants, coaches, parents, and accompanying staff
- Modern means of communicating information about the tournament (live broadcasts, electronic boards, posts about each round on the tournament page, etc.)
- Event photographer
- Presentation materials (brochures, magnets, promotional videos about the venue)
- Official cash prizes (a requirement for modern sports organizations)
- Promotions and master classes with the participation of great athletes
But for now, we hope this will happen in the future. Hope springs eternal in young people. And we publish the results:
