National championship season continues
Starting in February, many Western European countries will hold national championships on the large board. At the moment, the Lithuanian championship is coming to an end and the Belgian championship is beginning. What’s interesting there?
There have been some minor changes in the lineups for the Lithuanian national championships. For the first time in recent memory, the two strongest grandmasters in the men’s competition, Edvardas Bužinskas and Alexei Domchev, are absent from the championship final. In the women’s competition, we saw Ringeliene Živilė for the first time in a long time. She is currently in the lead and close to winning another title.
In Belgium, the main battle will likely be between experienced players Le Roy Kenny and Desmet Keita. But we also think that De Vries Janes will be in contention for first place. Let’s see what happens.
