Israeli Championship in Russian draughts-2024 (Rapid program)

On February 17 the Israeli championship on a small board was held in Haifa with rapid control. The tournament was attended by 12 people representing 12 different cities of the country.
The participants competed according to the Swiss system in 6 rounds (micro-matches of 2 games) with the draw of the first moves according to the new table of IDF.
Before the last round the question of the winner remained open: Grigory Getmansky was 1 point ahead of Yuri Kirillov and behind the leaders was a pursuit group of 5 participants, each of whom could claim a bronze medal. In the last round the leaders did not stumble and won, winning gold and silver. Grigory and Yuri did not take unnecessary risks, as a result, only they did not know the bitterness of defeats and scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. And the bronze medal was shared by international master Alexey Verkhovykh (Netanya) and Yuri Pogozhev, who confidently outplayed their rivals in decisive matches and scored 7 points each.

The Israeli International Draughts Championship. Haifa, Beit Shalom Hotel, from February 29 to March 2.
The winner will be eligible to participate in the European Championship, which will be held in Italy from June 1 to June 10, 2024.
