On April 2, a grandiose session of simultaneous checkers on 500 boards will be held in Yakutsk at the Triumph Sports Training Center. 8 grandmasters of the republic will compete against fans of the popular game.

This indicator will be registered in the International Book of Records “Interrecord” (the largest world records and achievements registration agency in Eurasia, the first international Russian-language alternative to the Guinness Book of Records), the press center of the RCSPSC “Triumph” reports.

It is noted that the large-scale session in Yakutsk should beat the previous record, which was set in July 2022 in St. Petersburg. Then, in honor of the 350th anniversary of the city, amateurs played against grandmasters on 350 boards. The final score was recorded 339:11 in favor of the session.
