According to the Dutch system (Results of the classical program)

Reviewing the results of the European Championship among boys and girls in the classical program, we once again note the high-quality and professional approach of the Dutch team to draughts. In the senior groups draughts players from the Netherlands practically do not meet competition.

You will not find draughts players from the Netherlands among the winners at younger ages. But starting with the U-16 groups, they win gold medals with enviable regularity.

And this approach, designed for a long-term perspective and the training of professional athletes, as well as athletes of high-performance sports, commands our respect. Considering that now in the Netherlands they are thinking about the preparation and development of draughts among women, the prospect in the senior groups for future championships from other federations is practically reduced to zero.

It is this method, based on the training of professional draughts players, whose education and training takes from 5 to 7 years, that Roberts Mission proposed at the time. But… infantilism and unprofessionalism turned out to be the main criteria for the proud federation. As a result, success in the younger groups creates an illusory and rather just a rosy pink impression.

Remarks: The answer must be sought in the desire of the proud leadership to be photographed and a huge passion for “self-promotion”. After all, while most teams will prepare and set up their draughts players for the result before the Rapid and Blitz programs, the proud leadership decided instead to “take pictures”. And it is this infantile desire and lack of an organization system, as well as an understanding of sports training, that makes us realize how stupid the proud leadership is.
