It’s done! We can finally read the minutes of the devil’s dozen meeting. “Ocean’s 13”, like characters from the film of the same name came together to play roulette. 13 most promising managers of the proud federation came together in a united rush to decide something. A phrase from the film should sound here: “What are the odds of settling the score? 13 to one”… Circus curtain and applause.

So. Recently a devil’s dozen of draughts figures got together. All of them are exhibits for the Office of Weights and Measures. But more on that later. And now about the decisions made at this meeting of “developers” of draughts.

1. They’ve accepted a pay rise for the chief secretary of the federation. Think about it.

The federation has only one type of draughts left, the second one is completely ruined (Well, they will hold the national championship on draughts-64 and what? And nothing… They will be proud till their old age.), and they raise the salary of the general secretary! Nonsense, paradox … So, if to send a representative to the European Championship among veterans or U27, there is no money. But to raise the salary of the general secretary – yes, please.

But that’s just at first glance. And if you look closely, it all makes sense. One big general secretary of an international federation through her subjects raised the salary of a small general secretary of a small, but very proud federation. And, if we remember that once one small general secretary brought a second general secretary with a recommendation to the post of head and ‘developer’ of draughts of the proud federation, this decision becomes understandable. Girlfriends should help each other.

2. The organisation is so big, that they had to hire another inspector. One can’t handle it. Oh, my goodness!

Now there are 7 officials! And soon our forecast will come true that the number of managers in the federation will be equal to the number of coaches still moving their legs to play one of the types of draughts. In short, the circus has left, but the clowns remain. “Sawing” the state money – it takes a special talent. You have to understand.

3. We almost saw a third solution. But then the leaders decided to think about it. (Why would they do that all of a sudden?) They want to create a unified educational program! Considering that the person who proposed this idea is from a great three-letter club, where the quality of the athletes’ play is invariably falling (Just kidding, at the last national championship they took only two medals out of eight gold medal sets. And that in the most unprestigious groups – U19, popularly known as the group “maybe someone will come”; and in the group U8, in which whoever beat correctly, is the “daddy”). We rejoiced. We are sure it will be a “chic”, not a program.

And that’s it. That’s the whole point of “Ocean’s 13” meeting. As sung in one song: “Where did the circus go, it still was yesterday…. And the janitor didn’t have time to tear the posters off the walls…”.

 

But we also have some logical legal questions for these “Ocean’s 13”.

a). Following the facts from the Lursoft Latvia database, we would like to ask a question on the legal member of the proud federation: Society “Dobeles Prāta sporta klubs”. According to official data, this legal entity has not submitted Annual declaration to the Tax Authorities since 2018.

Taking this into account, we ask simple logical questions:

1.1. If the society has no financial activity, how does the team from “Dobeles Prāta sporta klubs” exist? Who pays and from what accounts for the participation of athletes from this club?

1.2. Given the stated number of active draughts players – 22 people, according to the data from 31.12.2024. – we would like to ask a simple question: if the organisation does not conduct financial activities, how is the work of 22 draughts players physically carried out? Or is it a secret alliance of “Sword and Plow”?

b). Following the facts from the Lursoft Latvia database, we would like to ask a question on the legal member of the proud federation: Draughts players’ society „Dāma”.  According to official data, this legal entity has not submitted Annual declaration to the Tax Authorities since 2020. Some time ago a currently “voiceless” member of the Board ran for the place in the Board and voted from this ‘dead’ organisation.

2.1. If the society does not conduct any financial activity, how does this organisation exist in the list of legal entities and draughts clubs in Latvia? Considering that the only legitimate member of this ‘dead’ organisation plays for Society “Rīgas Sporta veterānu klubs”? We would like to remind you that since the time of Robert Misans nobody has seen a single application from this organisation, where its founders died long ago. A fiction, not a club. No doubt about it.

c). The situation is even more ridiculous with the next legal entity of the federation. Again we see the presence of fictitious activity and a fictitious number of draughts players. So, following the facts from the Lursoft Latvia database, we would like to ask a question on the legal member of the proud federation: Foundation Draughts club “Malta”. For several consecutive years the same amount has been transferred in the Tax declaration in the column “Mērķfondi”. The organisation does not carry out any financial activities.

3.1. If the society has no financial activity, how does the team from Foundation Draughts club “Malta” exist? So, it doesn’t exist.

And if you look at the tables of the “ghost tournament” in Russian draughts “Latgale Draughts League”, there are not those 43 draughts players listed in Rēzeknes novada Sporta skola, connected by one cunningly made knot with the above mentioned club. After all, the man who has two votes in the proud federation has never in recent years brought a single draughts player to competitions under the auspices of these clubs. Not to mention this man’s talent in the world of draughts.

A simple example: Z. Golubeva and R. Misans have one club each, which regularly bring medals from world and European championships to the national team. But this amazing character has two votes in the federation and not a single student. Apparently, this is because he runs a lot, judging by his social networks. And his students are not “catching up” with him.

Or maybe, judging by the decisions made at the “big meeting”, we just can’t understand the logic of the girlfriends. Is he, too, like the general secretaries, ‘developing’ draughts? Girls have their own logic. One that defies elementary Reason.
