Has Phoenix returned? How serious are his intentions?
Now it’s practically official. The Domātprieks club has reappeared on the draughts scene. Will it be for long? We will soon see whether those who abandoned the club will return to it. And we will soon understand what goals and objectives are being set at the moment. In any case, we congratulate the most ambitious club, Domātprieks, on its unexpected return.
Phoenix
Like a phoenix, reborn time and time again,
Returning to the same old valley,
Winking at everyone with your “purple eye,”
You come back again, overcoming the pain.
And gathering your memory bit by bit,
Trying to grasp a dozen topics at once,
You try to convince all the dullards
That the old one is no longer relevant.
The phoenix (Greek: φοῖνιξ, Latin: phoenix) is a mythological long-lived bird that is reborn after death. In ancient Egyptian mythology, it was called Bennu, and in ancient mythology, it was associated with the symbol of the sun. It was imagined to be similar in size and appearance to an eagle, with bright red or golden-red plumage. According to a common version of the myth, foreseeing its death, the Phoenix committed self-immolation, after which it reappeared from the ashes (in one variation or another, the myth was associated with Heliopolis). The Phoenix was considered to be the only, unique specimen of its kind. In a metaphorical interpretation, the Phoenix is a symbol of eternal renewal and immortality.
