After shooting yourself in the leg, the main thing is not to damage your head

In psychology, there is a term known as the masochistic personality type. The theory suggests that the concept of the masochistic personality type has intrigued psychologists and researchers for several decades. These individuals seem to have a unique inclination towards self-sabotage and self-inflicted pain. They often engage in behaviors or make choices that harm their own well-being, whether it be in their relationships, careers, or personal growth. Masochistic personalities may actively seek out painful or challenging situations. They may be attracted to emotionally or physically abusive relationships, and they may find themselves in situations where they are almost certain to fail.

And now to the sporting events.

On one island, far from the Motherland the world and the strongest draughts federations, having recruited by an ad, on the labor exchange using the global list of draughts the “omnivorous”, “insatiable” “allegedly world” federation holds according to one of the versions the world championship in draughts among women. Exclusively due to the weather conditions, an ominous conspiracy accidentally two participants did not arrive. And instead of 20 from the global list, 18 remained. Sooo….

And at the most important event of the century, about a generous life, the leaders came out and saw the following:

  1. One of the main (as it should be in any sport) events takes place in a room that looks like a large gymnasium. Against the backdrop of live broadcast cameras, you can see chairs stacked on top of each other and a referee or tournament secretary sitting in a reclining position.
  2. There are no normal and conventional nameplates with the names and surnames of the participants on the tables. And for an inexperienced viewer it is unclear how to distinguish a representative of Trinidad and Tobago from a representative of the Dominican Republic. Logic will help the viewers. Or intuition.
  3.  Thank you for at least having the broadcasts. But… a question arises. And why “omnivorous”, “insatiable” “allegedly world” federation can not afford to buy and put 9 cameras? The fact that they stand on the perimeter is great. The square-nest format of broadcasting the main event is interesting. But is it possible to see all the boards?… Although… maybe it doesn’t need to seen?!
  4. And another question. Well, let’s say they couldn’t buy the cameras. Well, let’s say they didn’t let the racks on the plane. And what happened to the electronic boards? Did they get lost? Did they get stolen? Couldn’t they find a specialist in Trinidad and Tobago who could connect them? Or is this tournament not worthy of digital recording? And why is it that any major international tournament in the Netherlands, as well as the Dutch Championship, is better covered than any event of the year by the “worldwide” organization?
  5.  We would also like to ask about the unique management. Tell us, for whom are the prizes from 150 EUR to 300 EUR, with a starting fee of 100 EUR, intended? Is it a grant? Is it a taxi fare reimbursement? Is it a bribe? If there is not enough money for cameras, electronic boards and live broadcasts, perhaps it would be more effective to learn how to manage finances more effectively? Instead of humiliating players, even those selected from a global list, with handouts.
  6.  And more about finances. Who is the Open tournament for? For those six players who will benefit the draughts world of Trinidad and Tobago? At whose expense was the banquet held, and who needed it? Unemployed draughts players from Europe? Or is this a master class with fixed matches? If they wanted to save the ruined championship of the entire Earth, they chose an idiotic method. It’s hard to imagine Ronaldo playing soccer in a kindergarten, getting free meals and a medal.

We would like to express our great gratitude to the Dutch Draughts Federation for their decision not to participate in this absurd theater. The endless theater called “A Shot in the Foot and a Little in the Head.” Currently, there are only 5-6 federations in the world that can maintain and develop the draughts structure at a high level with stable government funding. Let’s list these countries: the Netherlands, China, Mongolia, Russia, and Belarus. They have retained the structure to some extent and are trying not to lose it, and they are also ready to represent players in a wide age range (children, juniors, adults, veterans, and players with special needs) from the following countries: Hungary, Poland, Uzbekistan, and Moldova. But…..

You won’t find representatives of these countries in the leadership and management of the world chess. How is that possible?! You might ask… We won’t be able to answer this. It’s like a black, endless abyss. Where there’s no room for people with heads.

The leadership of a sports organization should be filled with professionals, not political idols or elderly functionaries. But more on that later. Next time.

In the meantime, check out the results of one version of the world championship and the competition between six professionals.
