Heinar Jahu has already turned 91 years old and he’s still in good playing shape. And in the Estonian blitz championship he took the honorable 8th place.

After looking at the composition of the upcoming Estonian international draughts championships we have sen new names and new clubs. Which we were sincerely glad about! And if this number grows a little more, then in this case competition within the country will increase and new names of coaches will appear.

The Estonian championships in Russian draughts ended predictably enough. Arno Uutma became the champion of Estonia for the 27th time, and Kari Vainonen became the champion of Estonia among women.

The national team championship in international draughts was held in Estonia. We are glad that the coaching efforts of Arno Uutma, who trains all the strongest draughts players in Estonia, are not in vain.

Congratulations to the coach, public figure, draughts arbiter and active participant of draughts tournaments Heinar Yahu on his 90th birthday! A unique person with character, the chief secretary of the match for the world draughts crown Andreiko – Kuperman celebrates his Anniversary!

Let’s start our article with an old question from Odessa: ‘Sema, what will you have from this? And do you need this?’ Do the leaders of the proud federations know the answer to this question – we are not sure about that.

Once again we celebrate the unique longevity of Jahu, Heinar. On the eve of his 90th birthday, he continues coaching and takes part in all possible tournaments. At the same time, he takes prizes both playing Russian checkers and playing on a large board. Health from our team Jahu, Heinar!

I want to applaud standing up! 20 Estonian draughts players, not counting their parents and coaches, went to the European Championship in Russian draughts in Turkey. while Lithuanian and Latvian draughts players continued to express “russophobic accusations”  and inadequate demands to the entire world draughts community in their own correspondence with the support of the board of their federations.

Jacek Pawlicki visited the traditional tournament in Nomme, which was very popular at the time. When an FMJD functionary comes to the tournament, we have to wait for negotiations. But what topics will be raised during the traditional tournament? Maybe about section 64, which some federations are trying so desperately to promote? Will see.

After a letter from a certain friend from Latvia, a championship in the U-13 group in stokelet draughts was unexpectedly organized in Estonia. Panic is panic, but the championship was held on March 25-26.

The New Year has gained its legal rights. The frost ‘ has dispersed’ through the streets, but our hall is warm and cozy. The atmosphere is friendly and cheerful as always. And the upcoming quiz remains a mystery.
