One of the necessary decisions for the development of sport
At the dawn of draughts, open national championships were often held in some regions of the world. This contributed to the emergence of a renewed coaching base and became a catalyst for the development of the sport. This aspect of sports management is used in many sports.
It is worth remembering the examples of short track and hockey, as well as the history of the creation of professional leagues and associations. These leagues also made it possible to exchange players and invite the world’s strongest coaches. In draughts, China and the Netherlands have partially chosen this path. But perhaps other countries will follow suit, and this will become a good basis for creating the first professional draughts league with a more systematic approach to financing our sport.
Estonia hosts national championships on a large board. And this is not the first time that the national championship has become open. Our proposal at the international level is more radical. To unite three or four countries into a single unified region with common management and open championships. This is because coaching potential will soon begin to disappear completely in these regions, and the decline in competition at international junior forums is becoming more and more noticeable. It also resolved many organizational issues related to the politicization of some useful idiots.
